Award-winning guitarist and singer/songwriter James Adkins was born in Fredericksburg, Virginia and quickly developed a love for music. James learned to sing and play guitar from his father and various performers he met while growing up on military bases all over the US and abroad. While studying Jazz Performance at the University of West Florida James was cutting his teeth as a club musician around Pensacola learning how to perform and make it in the music business. The musical path led James from coast to coast ending up in Virginia where he became the primary songwriter and lead singer of the award winning Americana band Big Virginia Sky. Though still on the road for his solo show, band, and as a freelance musician, these days James is based out of Northwest Ohio and he's back to his roots performing a mix of Bluegrass, Folk, Americana, and his own original music.
