Salvaged, submerged, from ancient bogs in northern New Zealand, Kauri’s age alone gives it authority. But this lustrous, exotic, straight-grained wood has a uniquely open sound, with a mirror-like shimmer, excellent note separation and balanced but not overpowering bass. A fingerpicker’s delight.
