Enemy Planes

Enemy Planes is a new project that includes former members of Pictures of Then and Solid Gold. They made their unannounced debut in Austin, TX during last year’s South By Southwest. Over the last year they’ve played a handful of shows that included Summerfest, CMJ, a tour with Meat Puppets, as well as multiple live sessions at Day Trotter, 89.3 The Current In Studio and Cities 97 Studio C. Their forthcoming album, “Beta Lowdown”, mines a more ominous musical vein, drifting between melancholy-and-menace, hypnotic-and-hysteric, while pulling spark from decades of synth-and-guitar stylists to erect a sound all their own. The band’s debut music video for “We Want Blood”, was filmed on historic Coney Island amidst the aftermath of hurricane sandy by acclaimed director Tobias Stretch, known for his work with Radio & Efterklang. Met with high praise, “We Want Blood” affords a beautiful yet haunting glimpse into the heart of the band, and serves to offer a promising taste of things yet to come.
