Body Styles

When thinking of a guitar the first thing is to consider is the body size and shape. The body style is the foundation of the tone and feel of your instrument.

  • Parlor

Easy to embrace, the Parlor is a treat in comfort and expression. Displaying punctual notes, woody tones and quick decay with few overtones, the Parlor is often preferred by finger-style players. The percussive qualities are also great for some flat-picking applications. Always handy, and ready to play, the Parlor is a great instrument.

  • Orchestra

Lively, even-toned and punchy, Orchestras are known as all around performers, used in all styles of music. Having fewer overtones than the Dreadnought, Orchestras lend themselves more readily to microphones and reinforcement, making them an excellent choice for stage use while still retaining the beauty of acoustic tone. Very satisfying in finger-picking styles.

  • Dreadnought

The most popular and possiby the most versatile of all body sizes, the Dreadnought provides booming power with pleasing overtones and wash. Broad tone dynamics from low bass to higher fingerboard position trebles with round, full note shape. Bluegrass, pop, rock rhythms and acoustic fills are all in the Dreadnought's arsenal. Great for players looking for volume and clarity.

  • Jumbo

Great for rhythm and vocal backup, the Jumbo body style guitars of the 50's and 60's flavored countless country and western songs and pop anthems. Sharply shaped notes with bright overtones, Jumbos provide luxuriant texture to sing with. Accompanied by other instruments, Jumbos fill the middle of the band with ease. Especially useful for singer-songwriter performers and duos.
